Prof Theuns Steyn of the Department of Taxation distinguished himself as an author of note by recently adding his name to three publications. He published a book entitled A conceptual framework for evaluating the tax burden of individual taxpayers, and contributed a chapter with title “Exploring individual taxpayers’ perceptions of tax complexity: A pilot study”, in collaboration with one of the MCom students under his supervision, Kuda Muli. He also collaborated with Prof Madeleine Stiglingh, Head of the Department of Taxation, for a chapter in a book. The chapter’s title is “The complexity of tax simplification: Experiences from South Africa”.
