The Department of Statistics at the University of Pretoria, the oldest Statistics Department in South Africa, also celebrated its 76th birthday and the fact that the first statistics lecture was presented at the University of Pretoria 90 years ago. Prof Dawie Stoker, front middle (Head of the department 1963 - 1980) was our special guest for the day.
