The Clinic for High-Risk Babies (CHRIB) is an early intervention clinic in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology at the University of Pretoria. Drs Esedra Krüger and Renata Eccles, both qualified speech-language therapists, perform weekly assessments with students and intervention sessions are conducted weekly if deemed necessary. The clinic was born out of a need for early intervention services for infants and young children with communication development delay and is now 34 years old. The team approach at CHRIB, as well as the focus on caregiver-led intervention, make the service comprehensive and aligned with international standards in early intervention.
