Prof Jerry Northern visits Department

Hearing in Infants - which he co-authored with Marion Downs, Prof Northern visited with staff in the Department on Thursday 5 November 2009. During the meeting staff had their own editions of the book signed and discussions were held to investigate how students could benefit from future seminars and lectures provided through video-conferencing. 

Prof Northern is currently Director of Professional Services for Starkey Labs, the largest US hearing aid manufacturer located in Minneapolis, MN. Some of his lifetime achievements include:

• Professor Emeritus at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver, Colorado. 
• Consultant to the Marion Downs Hearing Center at the University of Colorado Medical Center in Denver 
• President of the Colorado Hearing Foundation. 
• Retired from the faculty at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 1996 after 26 years at the University Hospital as Professor of Otolaryngology and director of Audiology Clinical Services.
• Founding Member of the American Academy of Audiology and served the organization's third President.
