To create more awareness, and to shed more light around gender based violence,  as well as the current violent xenophobia outbreak that hit our country recently, the Department of Town and Regional Planning hosted a GBV Assembly on 10 September which was facilitated by our students. The Assembly provided a platform for our student community to discuss, share their thoughts and ideas on the current crisis facing our country.

We also hosted guest speakers from outside our Department named, Ms Kelebogile Mpele, Sr Alidah Kekana, Duke Rasebopye as well as our students sharing their challenges and ordeals they endured.

The Department of Town and Regional Planning would like to re-iterate that we strongly do not condone gender based violence!!!
