Two more doctorates awarded in the Faculty of Law

The Faculty of Law is proud to announce that two lecturers have obtained their doctorate degrees, i.e. Hermie Coetzee from the Department of Mercantile Law and Willem Gravett from the Department of Procedural Law.

 


Hermie Coetzee's dissertation titled  “A comparative reappraisal of debt relief measures for natural person debtors in South Africa”  was finalised under the promotorship of  Prof Melanie Roestoff in the Department of Mercantile Law.  Willem Gravett's doctoral dissertation, titled  “'To Save Succeeding Generations from the Scourge of War': Jan Christian Smuts (1870 - 1950) and the Genesis of International Organisation and Human Rights” was completed under the promotorship of Prof Christof Heyns from the Institute for International and Comparative Law in Africa, Faculty of Law, University of Pretoria.

The degrees will be formally conferred upon them on Thursday, 10 December 2015.
