The vacancy arose when Prof André Boraine, who was the previous head of this Department, was appointed as Dean of the Faculty of Law towards the end of 2011. Prof Rian Cloete was the acting head of this Department since then.
The Faculty congratulates Prof Cloete on his appointment and wish him well with his new responsibilities.
