The CMA has just issued a new Mediation Arguments paper, written by Emeritus Professor Chris Saunders. The paper explores the main phases of international mediation in the conflict over Namibian independence. It focuses on ways in the international mediators managed, and in some important respects failed to manage, the complexity of the case. The study provides lessons for addressing the complexity of contemporary conflicts.
