Public seminar: Minister Trevor Manuel on South Africa

Mr Manuel has served as a Minister in the South African government for the past 18 years, 13 of them as Minister of Finance. Currently he is the Minister of the National Planning Commission in the Presidency. He was the Governor of the Boards of the African Development Bank Group and the Development Bank of Southern Africa and has served as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the International Monetary Fund and as Chair of the Development Committee of the World Bank.

His presentation is entitled: "Towards a planned future for South Africa: obstacles and opportunities".

The seminar will be hosted by the Department of Political Sciences and the Institute for Strategic and Political Affairs, together with the Sunday Independent and the Forum for Public Dialogue.
