This week, we are proud to present the Afrikaanse Hoër Meisieskool Pretoria Orchestra. 

The AHMP Symphony Orchestra is 9 years old this year. It was founded in 2017 with 16 members under the direction of Mr. Eddie Clayton.

Mr. Clayton is still the conductor and today we boast 64 members. It is a full symphony orchestra. Mr. Clayton is a well-known conductor and we are privileged to have him as our conductor. He conducts various school orchestras and also the Johannesburg Youth Orchestra and Simfonia Juventi (a provincial orchestra).

The music selection for this year will appeal to young and old and spans a wide range of genres. The orchestra has already won numerous awards over the years and was named the AKV's best orchestra in 2024.
