TuksHockey: A strong start to 2013

Posted on January 23, 2013

Towards the end of 2012, two of our u21 National players received their senior national call up and both scored on debut for the national team. Matthew Guise-Brown and Grant Glutz' inclusion in the SA Mens Team now takes our player representation in SA Mens Team in 2012 to an impressive seven in the period 2012-2013 (Justin Reid-Ross, Jonty Robinson, Rhett Halkett, Nicolas Gonsalves, Francios Pretorius, Matthew Guise-Brown and Grant Glutz).

In the ladies set up, two u21 players were included in the Senior National squad for a camp which was held in the first two weeks of January 2013. We are proud to announce that Lilian Du Plessis and Phumelela Mbande will join Dirkie Chamberlain and Nicolene Terblanche as part of the SA Women's Hockey Team that will compete in the World League at end of January beginning of February 2013.

Another two of our current men’s players have been invited to attend a SA Men’s selection camp to be held in Cape Town from the 28th January – 02 February. They are current Tuks 1 captain, Keagan Robinson, and Berne Burger. TuksHockey’s Technical Director, Craig Fulton, and Head Coach, David Viney, will also attend the camp as trainers. We wish them the best of luck at the camp.
