Our Coaches

Inky is the Head of Programme and 1st team Women's Head Coach at TuksHockey.

In November 2021, he was appointed as the interim head coach of the South Africa senior women's national field hockey team. He guided the national team in winning the 2022 Africa Hockey Cup of Nations and qualifying for the 15th edition of the Women's FIH Hockey World Cup.

He also served as an assistant coach of the national team on a number of occasions:

  • Tokyo 2020 Olympics
  • 2019 African Olympic Qualifiers
  • 2019 Africa Hockey Cup of Nations
  • 2022 Commonwealth Games 
  • 2022 FIH Hockey Women's Nations Cup

In 2018, he served as an assistant coach of the South Africa senior men's national field hockey team where he was part of the management team at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games and Men's Hockey World Cup in India.

From 2015 to 2016, he was the assistant coach of the South Africa U-21 women's national field hockey team.

Other achievements as a coach:

  • Northern Blues Hockey Coach of the Year 2017
  • South African Premier Hockey League Coach for St Lucia Lakers in 2017 and 2018 TuksSport Team Sport Coach of the Year 2017
  • USSA Women's Hockey winner - 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021
  • Women's Varsity Hockey winner - 2017, 2022

Sigz is the High Performance Men's Head Coach at TuksHockey.

He currently serves as the head coach and assistant coach of the South Africa U-21 and senior men's national field hockey teams respectively.

In 2021, he led South Africa in finishing ninth at the Men's FIH Hockey Junior World Cup in India and was part of the management team for South Africa at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in Japan.

Between 2018 and 2019, he was the assistant coach of the senior men's national team at the: 2019 Olympic Qualifiers 2019 Africa Hockey Cup of Nations 2018 Commonwealth Games 2018 Men's Hockey Junior World Cup.

In 2022, he was an assistant coach of the South Africa men's senior national field hockey team finishing fourth at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England. This was the best finishing place for South Africa since 2002.

Other achievements as a coach:

  • South African Premier Hockey League Coach for Drakensberg Dragons from 2016 to 2019 and winning the men's title in 2018 and 2019
  • TuksSport Team Sport Coach of the Year 2021 USSA Men's winners - 2021
  • Winners of the 2019 U-21 IPT with Northerns
  • Men's Varsity Hockey winner - 2022
