TuksHockey U21 players Lilian Du Plessis, Jacinta Jubb and Phumelela Mbande have been selected as part of the final 18 player squad to represent South Africa at this year’s U21 World Cup in Monchengladbach, Germany.
The tournament, which happens once every four years, will run from 27 July to 4 August 2013 is seen as a stepping stone for future National players and will consist of the world’s best up and coming hockey players.
The trio flew to Europe for a three week training and selection camp straight after winning USSA with the Tuks Ladies team in Cape Town.
Lilian and Phumelela are also currently members of the Senior National Ladies team which recently participated in the World League tournament in June.
We wish the players and the whole team all the best in Germany and hope the Tuks Ladies do us proud.
