The competition at IPT is always stiff and is known as the toughest strength vs. strength tournament on the hockey calendar. This tournament allows for senior and up and coming players to showcase their skills and abilities over a grueling five day competition.
This year the women’s tournament is in Port Elizabeth from 20-24 August 2013 and TuksHockey has 11 players who will be representing Northerns at this tournament.
The men’s competition will be staged in Cape Town from 25-31 August 2013. The South African u21 team will participate in this year’s Men’s tournament as preparation for their upcoming Junior World Cup in India in December. TuksHockey has players representing the SA u21 team (3) as well as the Northerns team (14).
TuksHockey Head Coach, David Viney, will be coaching the Northerns Men’s team and will also be at the tournament as a National Selector. TuksHockey Technical Director ,Craig Fulton, will also be attending the Men’s tournament as Assistant Coach for the SA Senior Men’s team.
