The FARC Vision and Mission

Vision

The Forensic Anthropology Research Centre is a centre of excellence and innovation in biological anthropology education, skills development and research. We collaborate nationally and internationally on theoretical and applied human variation research.

Our aim is to improve outcomes of victim identification in forensic anthropology and clinical applications in medical anthropology in sub-Saharan Africa.

Mission

The Forensic Anthropology Research Centre provides services in biological anthropology with associated education aligned with the real world of work. We focus on effective ways to achieve sustainability and innovation, research, and skills development.

Quality biological anthropology services are scarce in sub-Saharan Africa. Therefore, we aim to help develop scarce skills and build capacity among undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as medical and medicolegal professionals.

We strive towards diversity and inclusivity by adopted values of dignity, integrity, precision, respect, and discipline in science.
