Crystal Roux obtained a MSc in medical immunology in 2022 focusing on comparative effects of antiretroviral treatments on metabolite, cytokine, and platelet activation outputs of adults living with HIV. She is currently gaining experience in diagnostics while working towards becoming a medical scientist.  Her PhD is aimed at investigating subpopulations of regulatory thymus cells of HIV-exposed uninfected and HIV-unexposed uninfected infants to identify possible links to the altered inflammatory responses observed between these two groups. Crystal's passion lies in understanding the molecular occurrences within cells and how external stressors, such as HIV, can impact even the smallest molecules.
