We supply and support a comprehensive range of high-tech equipment and associated consumables as well as general laboratory items. We work with exclusive distribution partnerships for the products we offer and provide in-house after-sales support by means of both applications and technical service personnel. The founder company, South African Scientific Products, originated in 1983 and became known as The Scientific Group in 1999. Effective 01 March 2015, we are now a wholly owned subsidiary of Ascendis Health. Together with Surgical Innovations, Cardaxes and Ortho X-act, we form the Ascendis Medical Division. Our head office is located in Boundary Park, Northriding (Johannesburg). The building provides us with state-of-the-art technologies within a spacious environment from which we can capably serve our customers and comply with all necessary regulatory requirements. Our South African branches are located within all major metropolitan city centres (Bloemfontein; Cape Town; Durban; East London; Johannesburg). Our Diagnostics division serves the African Clinical- and Point of Care Diagnostics market and is the flagship of The Scientific Group. Through our dedicated local and export staff, laboratory automation has been taken throughout Africa and cost and time saving technologies to where it counts most – at the patient’s bed side. Through partnerships with international manufacturers, this division supply a comprehensive basket of diagnostic solutions to laboratories, hospitals and clinics.

The Science & New Business Development division is a dynamic and progressive division which supplies premium products, instruments and services to the academic and scientific industry. The division’s success can be attributed to both its technically qualified and skilled people as well as its partnership with world leading suppliers who are at the forefront of cutting-edge technologies within the scientific arena. This division also investigates new opportunities within the Clinical, POC and Science markets. Our dedicated Export Division provide sales and service support to all African countries outside the borders of South Africa (excluding Maghreb Countries), either directly or through our network of distribution partners.
