Interior Architecture Department visit from Limkokwing University

Posted on May 09, 2017

The academic delegation from Botswana’s Limkokwing University requested a meeting with the staff of the interior architecture programme at University of Pretoria in order to compare and benchmark their interior architecture programme with our department’s offering.

We engaged in an in-depth comparative discussion on the key educational aspects which contribute to students’ knowledge of the interior architecture discipline during their undergraduate studies at University of Pretoria.   We provided suggestions regarding Limkokwing University’s interior architecture graduates’ readiness for practice and postgraduate studies in interior architecture at University of Pretoria.  This followed with a tour of our building, Boukunde, the studios and facilities.

Prof Chrisna du Plessis (Head of Department), Anika Grobler (Lecturer) and Zakkiya Khan (Lecturer) discuss the undergraduate interior architecture programme with Oteng Lekoko (Programme Leader) and Tiisetso Mojermane (Head of Interior Design) of Limkokwing University

Mhlanga Munyaradzi (LU), Catherine Karussseit (UP), Oteng Lekoko (LU), Prof Chrisna du Plessis (UP), Tiisetso Mojermane (LU), Josiah Mashwita (LU) and Zakkiya Khan (UP) in the foyer of Boukunde after a lively discussion

The meeting has opened several possibilities for collaboration between our institutions which we believe will, in future, enrich the educational experiences for interior architecture students from both universities.

We wish to thank the staff of Limkokwing University for their friendly visit.
