A team of JVK 300 students - Ms Khuzwayo, Ms Mkefa, Ms Lekokoane, Ms Gininda and Ms Chilwane -has created an innovative unplugged coding kit named uHambo LikaLinda to bring coding and robotics to resource-limited schools. Crafted from recyclable materials such as boxes and plastic, the kit features 3D models of everyday items, offering a cost-effective and accessible approach to teaching coding concepts. With no technology required, this solution is perfectly suited for underfunded schools. Learners guide Linda step by step through activities that introduce foundational concepts like sequencing, algorithms, and real-world problem-solving, all while engaging in practical, hands-on learning experiences.
uHambo likaLinda ULinda usuku lwakhe lokuzalwa ngu-10 kuMfumfu! UMama Joy ufuna uku bakeka ikhekhe elikhethekile lokukhumbula uLinda, kodwa uyabona ukuthi uphuthile emithini ethile. UMama Joy uthumela uLinda ukuthi ayothenga le midla ezitolo ezihlukene edolobheni. ULinda udinga usizo ekutholeni indlela yakhe ukuze athenge konke ngaphambi kokuba uMama Joy aqale uku bakeka. Abafundi bazomkhombisa uLinda (njengemishini) ngezikhombisi ezilungile ("ikhodi") zokuthenga zonke le midla bese ebuyela ekhaya ngesikhathi sokugubha usuku lwakhe lokuzalwa. |
Linda’s journey Linda's birthday is on the 10th of October! Mama Joy wants to bake a special birthday cake for Linda but realises that she’s missing some ingredients. Mama Joy sends Linda to buy these ingredients from different shops in town. Linda needs help finding her way through the town to go and buy everything before Mama Joy can start baking. The learners will guide Linda (as a "robot") by giving her the correct instructions ("code") to buy all the ingredients and return home in time for her birthday celebration. |
