Prof Muthivhi's work is grounded on Vygotsky’s sociocultural and cultural-historical research framework, exploring the relevance and implications of the research methodologies emanating from this research tradition, as well as the implications of its conceptual framework for the specific and unique learning and developmental contexts of schooling and society in contemporary South Africa, and the African sub-continent more broadly.
