Prof Ina Joubert, Acting Head of the Department of Early Childhood Education, attended the World Education Research Association (WERA) 2015 Focal Meeting, which was held in Budapest in September 2015. She  organised and chaired a symposium with the title ‘Researching the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Focusing on Assessment at Higher Education Institutions Teacher Training: Innovative Practices Expanding Boundaries’.

Staff from the Department, Dr Marié Botha, Mrs A Botha, Dr J van Heerden and Prof N Phatudi, also delivered a presentation at the symposium, entitled ‘Towards the scholarship of assessment: The contribution of a poster presentation by final year student teachers as assessment project’.
