Please Clear Level 1 of the Merensky 2 Library During Loadshedding

The Department of Library Services would like to warn students of the possible power interruptions that will be experienced during the scheduled load-shedding sessions. Due to the increased frequency of load-shedding and the increased pressure on our generators, we have recently been experiencing some power difficulties.

Due to these factors, the maintenance team have decided to try and reduce the load of the generators during load-shedding by cutting the power to Level 1 of the Merensky 2 Library. Hence, we ask that all students can kindly clear the Level 1 area, during the allocated load-shedding times. 

If you notice the lights switch off and do not return to normal, please take advantage of the newly installed emergency lights and evacuate Level 1. The emergency lights last between 15 and 20 minutes.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and would like to remind students that they are welcome to utilise any other floor of the Merensky 2 Library and the 24-Hour Study Centre during these times.
