FundaBotix, one of the businesses supported by UP’s TuksNovation, was recently selected as one of 20 finalists in the 2019 SAB Foundation Social Innovation Awards, and received seed grant funding of R200 000 to support its development.

University Social Responsibility efforts have been highlighted throughout October. As part of the campaign, UP held a photography competition in which students were encouraged to take a picture which encapsulates a social responsibility project they’re involved in.

Statistics show that one in 28 women in South Africa may develop breast cancer in their life. This represents approximately 25% of all cancers in women. Globally, more than two million new cases of breast cancer were reported in 2018.
