The first time the Tuks player Mfundo Masiya dared to try and touch one of the pieces on a chessboard, he got scolded it however did not discourage him instead it motivated him.

TuksChess hosted their first ever Open Rated Tournament on the 19th-20th August 2016 since it’s re-establishment in 2010.

TuksChess hosted their monthly chess clinics at Sci-Enza (TuksChess home ground). The clinic was attended by 18 TuksChess players. The purpose of the clinic was to equip players with the theory behind chess and give lessons of various chess strategies and tactics.
