Tuks athlete, PC Beneke, qualified for the 27th FISU World University Games to be held from the 6 - 17 July in Kazan Russia, at an Athletics Gauteng North League Competition on Saturday 10 February 2013 when he recorded a time of 50,61 seconds in the 400 meter hurdles. This was one of the best performances of the day.
Anneri Ebersohn also performed well and recorded a time of 53,61 seconds in the 400 meter for women. Anneri also won the 200 meter.
