The Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) African Championships commenced in Durban on Wednesday, 22 June 2016. Thirty-one athletes and three coaches from TuksAthletics have been selected to participate in this prestigious event.

LeRoux Hamman proved that perseverance pays off when he won the 400-m hurdles in a time of 49,24 s at the BestMed-Mondo Meeting on Saturday, 13 June 2016. This race also qualified him for the Olympic Games.

With his performance of 10,01 s on 11 June 2016 at the Racers Grand Prix in Kingston, Akani Simbine (Tuks/hpc) showed that it is only a matter of time before he again runs the 100 m in under ten seconds.

The new Mondo track at TuksAthletics is said to be the fastest in South Africa. If this is the case, Carina Horn might come close to running 100 m in under 11,1 s on Saturday, 18 June 2016. She might even set a new South African record.
