Last week the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology, Prof Wynand Steyn, and Ms Nadine Kamoo, Senior Administrator Officer of the Faculty, were invited to tea by the first year students of the Department of Architecture. The students had just completed presentation models for a design project located in Kruin Park, Lukasrand, and used the opportunity display their work and to engage the Dean on the collaboration between architects and engineers in practice. Everyone concurred that the event should be repeated next year and the visitors commented that it was a relief to engage with students once in a while.
