For the South African Pavilion at the 18^th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, the curatorial team has developed a highly conceptual and philosophical exhibition around the theme "The structure of a people". This exhibition is divided into three very clear zones, each of which tackles the exhibition theme from a slightly different angle.

The three "The structure of a people" zones engage contemporary conditions, such as ecological change and inequality, through formerly peripheral value systems and ideologies. The curatorial vision relied heavily on the appreciation of precolonial values through the study of Indigenous Knowledge Systems and their role in reimagining our contemporary human settlements, institutions, and communities into the future. – Text by SA Pavilion.
