The 2016 ILASA Conference included a student competition that requested students to submit real design proposals that meet the four main themes of the conference and demonstrate imaginative ways of re-interpreting the value of our landscape.
The winning prize was R10 000, second place R7 500 and third prize R5 000, proudly sponsored by ILASA.
Twenty entries were received for the competition. The national judging panel selected five top students:
1) Sune Bos (UP)
2) Marike Franklin (UP)
3) Marissa Labuschagne (UP)
4) Timothy Snyders (UCT)
5) Sue de Kiewit (UP)
The winners were announced at the cocktail event on the first day of the ILASA Conference on 29 September. ILASA would like to congratulate the winners and encourage students to take part in competitions to help them learn and grow.
