All students of the Department of Architecture, University of Pretoria, participate in an annual vertical studio during the first week of the second semester. This year the vertical studio investigates design strategies for social learning spaces in two enclaves on the Hatfield campus: between the UP library foyer and the Humanities podium and in and around Boukunde. The briefing session was opened by Prof du Plessis with presentations by Karlien Thomashoff (Thomashoff + Partner Architects), Anton Comrie (GreenInc Landscape Architects), Ané Genis (Department of Facilities Management) and Lauren Krüger (Saint-Gobain).
