Prof Chrisna du Plessis, Head of the Department of Architecture at the University of Pretoria, has been appointed as the 2016 Jubilee Professor at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden.

In 1979, during the celebration of its 150th anniversary, the Swedish government gifted Chalmers with a Jubilee Professorship to be used to bring new skills and ideas to the University and strengthen its international relationships. The position can be divided into different time intervals and held by different professors during the year. Prof du Plessis has been appointed for a period of three months, to be divided into two six week periods. During this time, she will be involved in postgraduate research projects and will work with her colleagues at the Chalmers Department of Architecture on developing a framework for including regenerative design in architectural education. She has just completed her first six-week period and will return to Chalmers in September.
