What we do

Research

Evidence-based research informs everything we do; it is imperative to sustainability and impact. Knowledge development informed by rigorous research and data with rich descriptions, experiences, and perceptions is critical when Africa is often misrepresented and underrepresented. Our goal is to produce evidence-based practical research outputs that will inform our teaching and learning interventions, adding to the richness of ALLP-Health offerings

Education and Training

Unique in South Africa, the ALLP-Health Education and Training serves a future where Africa is recognised as a global leader in health innovation, policy, and practice. We improve health leadership through courses and degree offerings. These include undergraduate and postgraduate diplomas to MPhil’s and a PhD in Global Health Leadership. Our collaboration with WHO to provide training, adapted from the WHO transformational leadership course, runs from August 2023 to April 2024.

Advocacy and Engagement

Through public dialogues, debates, seminars, and convenings, we will sway health systems and populations, locally and globally. Prof Flavia Senkubuge’s extensive network is central to advocacy. She has hosted WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Ghebreyes & other notable health leadership figures. ALLP-Health will collaborate with and influence these stakeholders to change health systems. In 2025, we will host an international conference. It will draw together a diversity of Global North-South partners to capitalise on the potential for change
