The announcement by President Cyril Ramaphosa that 200 social workers will be employed to provide targeted services to survivors at social work centres is an important beginning. However, much more needs to be done to prevent GBV.

University Social Responsibility efforts have been highlighted throughout October. As part of the campaign, UP held a photography competition in which students were encouraged to take a picture which encapsulates a social responsibility project they’re involved in.
