The Association of South African Social Work Education Institutions (ASASWEI) expressed concern over the current circumstances in higher education across South Africa. In a statement published on 13 October 2016, ASASWEI emphasised the importance of higher education for the wellbeing of the people of South Africa. (Complete statement attached).
