CH2 and the UP Symphony Orchestra in Concert

Posted on September 06, 2011

Audiences can look forward to amongst others, the Adagio from Rodrigo’s Aranjuez, Myers’s Cavatina from The Deer Hunter and Tarrega’s Recuerdos de la Alhambra. Six of CH2’s original hits, including the title track to their new CD, Ping, will be arranged for the duo and orchestra by the renowned Peter McLea. The soundtracks for TV series such as Feast of the Uninvited and Amalia were composed by McLea and he is one of the main arrangers for the ever popular Huisgenoot Skouspel.

Joining CH2 and the UP Orchestra on stage to accent the Moorish feel for the evening will be the Montoya Dancers, a troupe specialized in Spanish dancing that will thrill and amaze with speed, flare and a touch of drama!

A cameo appearance by classical guitar legend, Charl Lamprecht will promise to add a touch of brilliance to the evening. The concert will be lead from the podium by Eric Rycroft.

This not-to-be missed lineup takes place on 11 and 12 September 2011 at 15:00 and 19:00 respectively in the Musaion, University of Pretoria Main Campus. Tickets are available at Computicket. To top it all off an international DVD will be shot on Monday 12 September 2011. Come and be part of a live audience! For more information contact, 012 420 2614/4183/2947 or mail [email protected].
