#TuksRugby: Three out of Five wins for Tuks against Dragons

This week saw yet again a hard encounter for the Tuks boys facing the men form the other side of the mountain.Tuks faced the Dragons who are this year’s newcomers in the Carlton Cup League premier division.

On Thursday night in the blistering cold, the U/20 Tuks team beat Dragons 13-6 while the U/21 Jongspan proved why they are four-time defending champions. In the opening minutes of the game, Tuks lost Captain Chris Labuschagne due to an ankle injury but that didn’t stop the stripe generation.

The three Tuks senior teams visited the Dragons den on Saturday, 14 May 2016. In a rainy and muddy affair, Tuks 3(Pumas) had ball possession but could not convert it into points thus allowing the Dragons to win with a 15 point difference. Tuks 2(Fezelas) came from behind at half-time and snatched the win from their opponents with a 9 point difference.

The main game of the day was filled with aerial ping pong between Tuks and Dragons. The first-half ended in 10-3 to Tuks after they scored a try and penalty. The second half came as a stunner as the Dragons scored two tries in the early minutes of the game. The Dragon men scored a corner kick to increase their lead to 24-10 against their opponents. Tuks scored a conciliation try but this didn’t stop the Dragons from securing the win.
