On 6 May, students from Afe Babalolo University, Ado Ekiti, Nigeria, visited the University of Pretoria as part of an academic field trip to South Africa. The students, from the Department of International Relations, took part in an academic exchange with students from the UP Department of Political Sciences. The event provided an opportunity for students to engage with political issues in the two countries. To that end, Department of Political Sciences postgraduate students Sylvia Graham and Moholotse Mohale made a presentation on South Africa’s democratisation. Dr Adeolu Durotoye, Head of the Department of International Relations at Afe Babalolo University, presented a lecture on Nigeria’s 2015 presidential election. The event was followed by a networking session for the students. |
