Theology boasts two newly rated NRF scholars

The Faculty of Theology has two newly rated National Research Foundation (NRF) scholars in its midst. Prof Nelus Niemandt, Head of the Department of Science of Religion and Missiology received a C3 rating, Dr Willem Fourie of the Department of Dogmatics and Christian Ethics was rated as a Y2 researcher, both for a five-year period from January 2016.

This brings the total of NRF-rated researchers in the Faculty to 17.

Prof Nelus Niemandt Dr Willem Fourie

Prof Niemandt’s research focuses on missional ecclesiology and missional leadership. He is currently researching leadership in complex systems. Dr Fourie’s research centres around morality in Africa, specifically how to approach morality in non-Western contexts. He is developing a descriptive social-theoretical approach. In addition he is also researching leadership in partnership with the Albert Luthuli Centre for Responsible Leadership.
