TuksAthletics: 4 Medals at Commonwealth Youth Games

Posted on September 09, 2015

Gift Leutela won his 2nd gold medal and again ran faster than the existing SA record but unfortunately the wind was too strong for it to be recognized as a national record.

The highlight for TuksAthletics on day 3 was undoubtedly the gold medal and also new SA record for Taylon Bieldt in the 100m hurdles. She broke 1 of the oldest SA Records of Ilse Ras which was set in 1982 when she finished the race in a time of 13.18 bettering te existing record by 0.03 seconds.

These results now mean that TuksAthletics contributed  4 out of the 5 gold medals that have been won during athletics and also set 2 national records during this meeting - a formidable feat!
