On Tuesday 23 May 12:30 compositions by South African composers will once again resound at the annual SAMRO Concert of Works by South African Composers.

This year’s concert promises to be filled with a variety of works. The first half of the programme opens with a composition by one of South Africa’s foremost composers - Jeanne Zaidel-Rudolph. The work to be performed is Wits Trio Tribute which was commissioned for her tribute concert in 2013. This is followed by a selection of jazz pieces for saxophone and piano by multi-award winning musicians, McCoy Mrubata and Paul Hanmer. They will perform their own work which include Gymnopedie Bleu and Playola. The second half of the programme comprises traditional South African compositions as performed by the TUKS Camerata under the baton of Michael Barrett. These works include Bayasibiza, Ngothando, Duba, and many more.

Be sure to diarise this date - it is a concert not to be missed. The concert will be free of charge.
