Light microscopy is an affordable and accessible technique which only requires glass slides, stains and a microscope. It can be performed in isolated rural areas. Microscopy can produce robust disease surveillance datasets which can be used in disease and risk modelling. In this webinar we will use anthrax as a model to demonstrate the benefits of light microscopy as a tool to disease surveillance since it is an ideal platform for expanding exposure for diagnostics and the value of data from such accessible techniques.
