The WOAH Collaborating Centre has planned the following training activities in 2023:

Short course

Description

     Target audience

Tick-borne diseases of cattle in sub-Saharan Africa

Session 1: Diseases overview

Session 2: Control approaches and acaricide resistance

 

Date: 1 & 2 August 2023

 

Time: 10:00 – 12:00  GMT+02:00       (time applies to both days)

 

 

Course fees: no charges

In this webinar we will discuss the epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment and control of the 4 most important tick-borne diseases (babesiosis, anaplasmosis, heartwater and theileriosis) affecting cattle.

In addition, participants will benefit from an integrated approach for the sustainable control of ticks and tick-borne diseases of cattle and the management of acaricide resistance.

4-day online course on the identification of selected, economically important tick species in southern Africa

Veterinarians, biologists, animal scientists, laboratory technologists with an interest in ticks

Wildlife necropsy course

 

Planned date: 10 & 11 October 2023

Course fees:

Online component: no charges

On-site training: Fees to be announced

2-day hybrid online and hands-on training course in necropsy techniques and sample collection for viral, bacterial and molecular diagnostic approaches with an emphasis on diseases of the African buffalo.
