The UP wireless network provides users with wireless connectivity across a broad spectrum of mobile devices, ensuring mobility and flexibility. However, the WiFi speed provided on the wireless network will not bring all the benefits and speed of connecting to the University network via the existing wired infrastructure.

3. What equipment do I need to access the UP wireless network?
In order to access the UP wireless network you will need a wireless card for your laptop – although most new generation laptops have this card embedded on the motherboard. Most mobile devices will connect seamlessly to the UP wireless network.
Please ensure that your device is compliant with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11b/g/n.
4. What important information should I read before I access the UP wireless network?
You need to familiarise yourself with the acceptable use conditions of the UP wireless network. You will also find additional support information on login instructions, as well as mobile device support information on this page.
5. Where can I access the UP wireless network?
WiFi hotspot areas are indicated by the signage provided across the various campuses. The WiFi coverage for each hotspot will vary depending on the amount of users connecting to the access point, your own position within the coverage area or adverse conditions that may impact the WiFi signal. The UP wireless network provides access to the UP intranet services (the TUKS SSID is reserved for this purpose), or Internet services (the TUKS-Guest SSIS is reserved for this purpose). Institutional resources residing on the intranet will be available to postgraduate and undergraduate students, staff, as well as visitors and conference attendees.
