The conference was sponsored by Ernst & Young, Deliotte, The Professional Provident Society (PPS), FASSET, KPMG and Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC) and there were speakers from each of them including SARS and SAIT. The focus of the conference was on the ‘young tax professional’ and the speakers focused on the role of the tax practitioner today, careers in taxation and several personal stories about their own development as tax practitioners.

The students also had the opportunity to network with representatives from each of the firms and to hand over their CVs’.

The Conference gave some very useful insight into the career paths associated with a degree in taxation and also gave the students the opportunity to form connections with their future employers.

The Conference went on until 14:00 and the students then spent the afternoon at the Valley of the Waves.
