Tatjana Schoenmaker won South Africa’s first medal at the World Student Games in Taipei this afternoon (24/08) when she set a new best time of 2:24.61 in the 200m-breaststroke to finish second.

The 2017 SA National Aquatic Championships in Durban successfully concluded on Saturday with a total of twenty-four Junior and eight Senior Fina World Championships qualifications, as well as four Deaf Olympics and seven World Para-Swimming Championships qualifiers.

That time has come in my life where I bid farewell to the competitive world of swimming as I embark on my next chapter in life. Although I am saddened to announce my retirement, I am also excited for the opportunities that lay ahead.
