#TuksSwimming: New Beginnings for our Olympian Emily Gray

Posted on September 30, 2016

Today we say farewell to Emily Gray, our paralympic swimmer who has announced her retirement from swimming. “That time has come in my life where I bid farewell to the competitive world of swimming as I embark on my next chapter in life. Although I am saddened to announce my retirement, I am also excited for the opportunities that lay ahead.

After being diagnosed with cancer at 11 years old and then having an amputation, swimming gave me my life back. Although I will no longer be representing my beautiful country, I aim to continue to give back to the sport that gave me so much. Thank you TuksSwimming from the bottom of my heart for all the support you have given me in my career. Swimming is seen as an individual sport but this couldn’t have been further from the truth for me. As I have been fortunate enough to have a phenomenal team behind me all the way I wouldn’t have ever reached 3 Paralympic Games without the support and guidance at Tuks.” We wish you all the best Emily with your future endeavours.
