2025 FIRST YEAR ORIENTATION WEEK

The University of Pretoria’s 2025 First-Year Orientation Week was a dynamic and unforgettable experience, and the Student Sport Committee was honored to be a part of this exciting journey! Over the course of the eventful week, we had the opportunity to interact with incoming students, ensuring they felt welcomed into the vibrant sporting culture of UP.

Our presence was highlighted at the First-Year Fiesta and the Student Life Exhibition, where we enthusiastically introduced first-years to the world of student sports. From handing out informative flyers to facilitating fun and engaging games, we successfully showcased the diverse sporting opportunities available at the university.

One of the standout moments was seeing the excitement and eagerness of new students as they explored various ways to get involved in sports, whether recreationally or competitively. The energy was contagious, and it was incredibly fulfilling to witness so many first-years showing enthusiasm to be a part of the Sport Culture!

To our new fellows,  we are thrilled to announce that registrations for the Chess Tournament are still open—do not miss your chance to compete and showcase your skills!
