Submission Requirements

Masters (Dissertation) Submission Requirements

Submission for the exam is now through email. No printing of dissertation or use submission for examination purposes.

  • Google form for approval of final title and appointment of examiners (to be filled in by the supervisor)
  • Submission forms (signed by yourself and supervisor)
  • Copyright declaration form
  • Checklist
  • Turnitin report (signed by yourself and supervisor)
  • Ethical clearance certificate
  • ID/Passport copy
  • Electronic copy of your dissertation (Word and PDF)

Masters (Coursework) Submission Requirements

Submission for the exam is now through email. No printing of dissertation or use submission for examination purposes.

  • Google form for approval of final title and appointment of examiners (to be filled in by the supervisor)
  • Submission forms (signed by yourself and supervisor)
  • Copyright declaration form
  • Checklist
  • Turnitin report (signed by yourself and supervisor)

  • Disclaimer Form (signed by both supervisor and student)

PhD (Thesis) Submission Requirements

Submission for the exam is now through email. No printing of thesis or use submission for examination purposes.

  • Google form for approval of final title and appointment of examiners (to be filled in by the supervisor)
  • Submission forms (P00 signed by yourself and supervisor)
  • Copyright declaration form
  • Checklist
  • Turnitin report (signed by yourself and supervisor)
  • Ethical clearance letter
  • Electronic copy of your thesis (Word and PDF)
  • ID/Passport copy
  • Language disclaimer (bound in all copies)
  • Draft article
  • Proof of article submission to the journal
  • Citation - 150 words limit
  • Disclaimer form

 

 

Examination progress is provided to the H.O.Ds only

Dept nominates external examiners (via Google form: indicate title, contact number, email address, name of institution, and short CV).

Postgraduate Committee approves the title and examiners.

Once approved, student Admin checks examiners' availability and provides student's submission date for the examiners to plan accordingly, and submits to supervisor for checks and approval.

Supervisor submits to Student Admin for the examination process to begin.

Student Admin sends to Dean for approval (Dean confirms the turnaround time).

Student Admin sends the exam details to the examiners. A 6-week countdown for report submission begins.

Week 4: Student Admin sends a reminder to examiners and updates the department on possible delays.

Week 7: Examiners submit their reports to Student Admin.

Student Admin sends the examiner's reports to the department (H.O.D, Supervisor, and Administrator).

Dept liaises with the student to make corrections as per examiner's recommendations. Only narrative reports are shared with the student for correction. 

Please  do not send the report forms and consolidated reports to students. Students have to submit the final thesis/dissertation to supervisor (s) for 

checks and approval. 

Dept submits a consolidated report for PG committee approval, including comments on corrections made, draft articles, etc.

Once approved Student Admin advises the student to upload the final electronic pdf copy onto the UPSpace platform for graduation purposes (bound copies no longer required).

Student to send proof of submission and completed and signed UPSpace form to Student Admin. This form is obtainable from the Faculty Administrative office. 

The form should be completed and signed by the student, supervisor and Facullty Admin Officer. Make sure the "availabilty" option is ticked.

Once received, student admin captures the student's results, approves them, and awards  the graduate student acoordingly. Upload graduation letter /KO2 on the portal. 

Graduation department takes over the graduation process.

NB: Supervisors and Students are not allowed to contact the Student Administration to check the progress of the examination.
