TuksSquash excells again

What a disappointment! It will be interesting to see what decisions the NJSA EXCO make regarding this group of u19 girls. With Ashleigh Ferreira injured for the past 3 week, who will be selected to go to the SA Closed?

After much controversy and debate as to which age group Makgosi Peloakgosi should be playing at the NJSA Easterns Junior Open, he put all the queries to rest by winning the under 16 age group title.

Makgosi's squash is going from strength to strength and she showed her mettle against some tough competition this weekend. Taking on the no 1 seed Mikaila Westmoreland and beating her showed courage, beating Kerryn Lachenicht showed character. Makgosi was in control the whole way and although Kerryn took the 3rd game, Makgosi never lost focus and kept to the game plan throughout the match, getting a 3-1 result.

Boipelo Montwedi dominated the u14 girls section from beginning to end.

The final was a bit of a disappointment when Boipelo proved too strong for Eastern's Marnel Redelinghuys.

The match started off a bit scratchy with Marnel's swing getting in the way, but Boipelo soon got the idea of playing the ball into the corners and ran through the points to a 3-0 victory.

The past couple of events has seen Boipelo rise into a level of her own - moving ahead of the rest of the group and having everyone wondering what has hit her! Boipelo's squash has matured and her confidence increased resulting in her skills level not only matching but overtaking players she battled against in 2009.
