Principals Award to a Student for Exceptional Performance in both Academics and Sport

Posted on October 22, 2013

As a student, Senade has embraced the TuksSquash philosophy of "where academics and squash can be number one" by studying medicine and performing at the highest levels in squash.

Senade is currently ranked in the SA top 10, despite the challenges of fifth-year medical studies. At the annual USSA tournament she represented the University of Pretoria in the number one position and was selected for the National USSA Top six.

In addition to representing South Africa at the World Student Championships (the epitome of achievement in the squash world), Senade was selected for the Protea team to participate in France in November 2012. Her selection was just reward for the many years of hard work dedicated to developing her skills and fitness. A product of the Tuks junior programme, Senade has managed to maintain her competitiveness despite nearing the completion of her studies. In January 2013 she represented South Africa again, at the All Africa Championships.

Maintaining her national and international level of performance while achieving good grades in her studies makes Senade Haupt a worthy recipient of this Award.
